Kejriwal Meets Delhi Lt Governor After Singapore Visit Face-Off

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, met with lieutenant governor VK Saxena today amid a dispute over the chief minister’s rejection of permission to go to Singapore for an event and a stalled federal agency investigation into the excise policy of the nation’s capital.

While the Lieutenant Governor and Mr Kejriwal, also the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), often meet on Fridays, today’s meeting was held against the background of resurgent tensions between the BJP-led centre and the administration of the Union Territory.

The Chief Minister missed the Friday meeting last week after the Lieutenant Governor permitted the CBI to investigate suspected anomalies in Delhi’s excise policy. Mr Kejriwal’s deputy Manish Sisodia was also implicated.
